Quick Trips: San Antonio Riverwalk Stay

The Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk was the perfect hotel for a quick trip from Austin for Josh and I to experience a taste of SA nightlife without breaking the bank. With its incredible waterfalls in the atrium style lobby, to sweeping views of the city and Alamo, we were happily close to the action.

Josh and I were THRILLED to have a room that overlooked the Alamo - a rarity in the San Antonio area which proved to be a nice touch when the temperatures were too hot to be outside but we still wanted to see all of the sights.

As the day faded into night, we all felt unmotivated to go back out for dinner so we ordered room service and margaritas in bed which aided in a VERY comfortable sleep in the plush beds.

It was also so much fun to bring Reece the dog along so that we didn't need to panic about finding a sitter and though she can't talk, I think she really enjoyed herself!

For those of you that love experiencing the food when you travel, the Hyatt Riverwalk has several restaurants including Q Kitchen | Bar, Mad Dog's British Pub, On the Bend Oyster Bar & Lounge, and Bier Garten Riverwalk. I opted for the breakfast buffet for roughly $24 and indulged in pastries, an omelet and waffle bar along with unlimited coffee and fruit - it was delicious!

For those looking to explore restaurants nearby, here are some other recommendations for full-blown meals, or quick treats in close proximity:

CommonWealth Coffeehouse - 611 Hemisfair Boulevard, San Antonio, TX 78205

With delicious coffee and light fare, this is the perfect option for a quick lunch or an easy breakfast before you head out to sightsee. We really enjoyed the lattes and the crepes!

La Panaderia - 301 E Houston St, San Antonio, TX 78205

La Panadería, has beautiful handmade bread and pan dulce inspired by Mexico’s Golden Era, or Epoca de Oro. I had the tequila infused croissant and it was as flaky and delicious as you would imagine!

PharmTable - 106 Auditorium Cir, San Antonio, TX 78205

For those that want to eat local and organic on their vacation, Pharmtable is a "can't miss" spot for any meal of the day. With a quaint inside and a nice patio, you'll love the environment as much as the beautifully plated, artful food.

I had the Keto Salad with Coconut oil seared collards, fresh greens, beet-kimchi, toasted coconut, turmeric saffron cabbage, hemp seeded avocado, roasted cauliflower, ras al hanut coconut cashew dressing.

Josh got the Farm to Table tacos with 3 non-GMO, heirloom corn tortillas with local roasted, pickled, & raw veggies with vegan almond spreads, beet cashew 'crema’.
